We purchased the 1600 a few years ago and have been amazed at how useful it is for storing our belongings for long road trips. The box is durable and yet light weight. We had one problem with one of the four cradles that the box sits on where it cracked and fell off. I contacted Thule and at no cost they sent me new and improved cradles.
