Cheapest Trailer Alignment Kit Magnet Hitch Line Up Boat Camper
I give this ten stars.
I rent but have a trailer that I pull with a small car. My landlord doesn't allow any kind of trailer in the parking lot, so I have to park on the street. I have to move it every few days because of city laws, so I keep it connected to my car.
I have been dragging the trailer around just to go to the hardware store. I have a clutch which makes it very difficult to line it up forward/backward.
I bought this because thought it would make it much easier to detach and attach my trailer, so I wouldn't have to use my wife's car if I didn't want to drag my trailer around.
The first time I used this it worked like magic. If you put the one of these on the car, right in front of the hitch ball, when it hits the trailer ball socket it will tilt forward. You can see that happen in the rear view mirror (in most cars) and you know when to stop.
To align left-to-right, when backing up you just keep the metal telescopic poles visually in line in the rear view mirror, and turn the steering wheel left or right as necessary. In my case everything lined up perfectly on the first try. I stopped the car and got out. I did not have to get back into the car. The ball was lined up perfectly with the socket. I just lowered the trailer socket and clamped it together. That day, I spent more time cleaning, lubricating the ball, and connecting safety chains and the electrical plug, than I did hitching the ball.
My only regret is that I did not think of this invention myself and make a million dollars on it.
The magnets are very strong. It extends 43 inches. So far the foam balls have held pretty good but I'm not taking chance, so I grab the thinnest part of the telescope with my fingers to make it longer, rather than pull it up by the ball, fearing it may break off the ball.
I just love this device and it will change the way I manage my trailer/car use relationship for the better.Get more detail about Trailer Alignment Kit Magnet Hitch Line Up Boat Camper.
