Curt Manufacturing 13251 Class III Receiver Review
I gave this product an easy 5 stars. The finish on the receiver looks like the picture, very glossy and smooth. The installation of this item took about 40 minutes from start to finish. All of the necessary hardware was included and the directions were very clear on what was required to prep the Jeep for install. I installed this item on my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado 4x4. I found getting this item was easier than trying to buy a factory hitch and have to cut the bumper and get the trim rings. Also, it appears that this has more tongue weight than factory so that's something to consider when thinking about the items you might be hauling.
The other 'pro' of this item for me is the fact that it doesn't look bolted on, and it doesn't look cheap. I'm sure many people out there will think that it is 100% factory which is what I love the most.
Cliff Notes:
- Easy Install
- Great looking finish
- Looks totally factory.
I HIGHLY recommend this!
This product is perfect for use if you are only using a platform carrier. It does not come with electrical components for use with a trailer needing a brake light connection. It is very simple to install. Curt/Amazon does a good job of identifying which vehicle is matched with which receiver. There was one addtional step Curt left off for use with our 2010 Grand Cherokee but it was easy to figure out if you are somewhat mechanical and handy with tools. You have to temporarily remove two additional connectors behind the rear support bracket in order to access the space needed to insert the rear of the receiver needed to hold the bolts.
