I bought these as a gift. The first time we went to use them to strap down the race car, everything seemed good. Until we got to the track and the one strap would not release. We had to rock the car to get the strap off. We had the same problem when we got back home, the strap would not release or retract. We called the manufacturer and they never called me back. I also e-mailled them and never recieved a response. I like a company who stands behind their products, not beside it. I switched back to the old style rachet straps with no problems. Save your money.
These were a bit of overkill for my 18 foot boat but I love how easy they hook up and ratchet down compared to the old tiedowns I had that you tighten and snap into place. I'll be getting a couple of smaller ones for the snowmobiles.
