Good product. I purchased this initially to get the added cargo space for moving my daughter to collage.
Most of the carrier you can assemble by yourself but you will need some assitance. I followed the advice of another reviewer of this produst who said "a 1x2 wooden slat fits perfectly in the indentations and would prevent any sagging. From Home Depot, I got oak 1x2 slats which is much stronger and stiffer than the usual pine or soft wood 1x2 slats." Good idea.
I Did not notice any additional wind noise from the carrier. I used it on a 2007 Dodge Caravan. Get more detail about SportRack - A90095 - Explorer Box 18 PE U-Bolt mounting hdwe. Included.
